Divergent and Insurgent

I keep meaning to post but I just never get around to it.  I need to start posting from my phone more.

Anyways, I haven't been playing as much the last week as I have gotten wrapped up in reading.  A book has to really pull me in to stop playing to read at night otherwise why would I even bother typing on it right?

So Divergent is the first book.  Someone referred me to the book and I just now got around to reading it.  If you have read the Hunger Games, then this book is going to give you a little appeal as you will fill somewhat of a connection.  However, it's not Hunger Games and is a completely different setting.  Still has a girl for the mail character with a boy with her.

Just like how the Hunger Games books were to me, I can't stop reading these books.  You really get sucked into the story and each time the chapter ends, you want to go onto the next to see what is going to happen.  I've already stayed up late a few nights paying the price the next day because I just couldn't stop.

I have finished reading Divergent and I'm about 150 pages into Insurgent.  Insurgent picks literally where Divergent stops.  Heck, it was probably one big book that they cut in half.  I think the total pages would be around 900+ pages if it was one book.  Which is not unheard of but it's split up.

I actually got the point where I thought Insurgent was about to take it's meaning from the title but it didn't happen.  It is definitely building up and I'm going to have to finish this book sooner than later so I can go back to focusing on finishing some games.

Finished Reading Inheritance

Inheritance was a really good book.  The whole series is worth reading.  I read for a straight week when ever I was able too for this last book.  I was disappointed that the green dragon on the front did not hatch until the end of the book.  That was the biggest disappointment to me.  I was expecting something else to happen but I guess if it had hatched early it would have died from having to fight at too young of an age.

Overall, the book will pull you in as you read.  When it gets into the fights going on, it swaps between the different people to keep up with what is going on.  It can get old in that atrospect but I guess it's to keep you aware of what's going on without having to backtrack too much in the story so everything is on the same timeline.

Now that the book is finished, Thanksgiving is here and I'll go back to playing some games again.  See you online.

Inheritance

I bought and I'm reading the last book of the Eragon series.  It's called Inheritance as you can tell from the title.  Definitely good so far and I'm only around 240 pages into the book.  Which is just over 1000 pages long.

A lot of people critize the game and movie on Eragon but I enjoyed them all.  The book was the last thing I did and it made it even better.

The whole series is a good read and I doubt you'll be disappointed unless fantasy just isn't your thing.

So if I miss a few nights gaming like last night, you know why now.  My nose is stuck in a book.  8)

The Hunger Games

My wife had been wanting to read a book along side me and this is the book we started reading on.

I must say Suzanne Collins did good job in writing this book.  It's still popping back up in my head even after finishing it almost 2 weeks ago.  So it has to be descent if it does that to me.

I'm pretty much going to spoil some of the story but I'll try to sum it up instead of telling it all so you'll want to read it

The book is based off in the future a little ways and there are different cities that have still survived but nobody really goes out into the wilderness.  They all stay in the city but this one girl goes and hunts in the wilderness to survive.  However nobody seems to live extraordinary lives but maybe a few people in the city.

The girl is the main focus in the book and she takes the place of her sister for this hunger game where they drew her name.  The main city hosts these games every year to prove a point of not revolting and get to the point of destroying each other.  Which is pointed out in the past and one city is completely destroyed from a war.  The Hunger Games puts 2 young kids from each city in an arena and they fight until all but one is dead.  The arena is by no means small.  It's a huge area and is sectioned off.  They have cameras everywhere and flying hovercraft machines that just appear out of no where to collect the dead bodies.

Before the games start up though it builds up the contestants and they try to win the heart of the crowd to get sponsors to receive items in the arena.  It's a good build up and you can tell the main city is better off than any other city around.

You will learn during the fighting and the talks that all the other cities are like the main city you started out in where most people are starving all the time and are barely making it by.

Of course since the book is focused on the girl, you know she wins but it's not the normal winning that happens.  Which is when the real games begin and the book ends when they arrive back in their home city.

Which makes you really want to read the next couple of books to see where this will end up and play out.

Definitely worth the read if you like reading books.
